Welcome to the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Days Festival 2023 page!

We are excited to announce that the Nation is organizing a month of events in July to celebrate 100 years since Sḵwx̱wú7mesh villages amalgamated in 1923 to become Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.

All Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Members and community members are welcome to attend the events as part of the lead up to Amalgamation Day on July 23. Some events will be open to the public.

More information will be provided about each of the events in the coming months.

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Days Festival Ticket Lottery (Online & Phone)

Nation Members 19 years or older are eligible to enter the online ticket lottery for Voices of Elders, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Excellence Awards Gala, and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Lands Boat Tours. Members can also enter the ticket lottery over the phone: call 604-980-4553 and ask to speak with Christina Dick or Jessica Natrall.

Baby Ceremony (Registration)

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw invites community members with children born between April 1, 2022 and July 8, 2023 to participate in our annual Baby Ceremony. Members must register by contacting Edmund Guss at 604-985-7826 or Edmund_Guss@squamish.net.

When: July 9, 2023 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm  

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Days Festival 2023 - Events for Community Members

Squamish Nation Members and community members are invited to attend the following events during the month of July. More information will be provided about each event once details are finalized. Any events that require registration will be added to the above section once available.  

100th Amalgamation Day Festival 

Join us for the 100th Amalgamation Day Festival on July 23! We are excited to announce live performances by Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, Digging Roots, Bitterly Divine, Aysanabee, and more.

It’s an all-ages event that will be held at Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver. The Nation is hosting this free event as part of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Days Festival 2023, which will celebrate 100 years since Sḵwx̱wú7mesh villages amalgamated in 1923.

Everyone is welcome to attend! There will be family activities, food trucks, artisan market, traditional performances, and a kid’s zone.

Additional artists will be announced in June. Stay tuned!

Share Your Thoughts | Amalgamation Day Survey

We would like to hear from Squamish Nation Members! Please complete this short survey to let us know what Amalgamation Day means to you. This survey will assist the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Days Festival committee with planning events including transportation and merchandise, etc.

We will be displaying some of the phrases and responses at various events during the month of July. Names will not be attached to the phrases.

At the end of the survey, you can choose to enter the prize draw for a chance to win one of four $50 gift cards.
