In May 2024 Council appointed an Integrity Commissioner to address governance policy and procedure and supports the Nation’s vision of Wa ta Ts’its’áp’nitumulh Chet (For Our Government), which emphasizes the importance of good governance, transparency and accountability within the Squamish Nation.
Office of the Integrity Commissioner
Chair and Council have introduced a new Office of the Integrity Commissioner. The Integrity Commissioner’s primary duty is to conduct impartial investigations of complaints concerning elected officials.
Concerns regarding alleged breaches of Council’s Governance Policy and Procedure should be directed to the Office of the Integrity Commissioner. Any allegations and complaints related to the integrity, ethics and conduct of Squamish Nation Elected Officials reported to the Office of the Integrity Commissioner will be treated in a manner that is fair, timely and confidential.
The Office of the Integrity Commissioner helps ensure the long-term integrity of our leadership, keeping our elected officials responsible and reflective of the values of the Squamish People.

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People living on reserve can apply for free home retrofits. These upgrades can include new windows, ventilation, insulation, or a new heat pump.
