The Income Assistance team is tasked with the effective administration of the Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Income Assistance program. This program offers financial support to eligible on-reserve adults and their dependents who need support to meet their basic needs, such as the costs of essentials like food, clothing, as well as rent and utilities.

The Income Assistance team supports Members living on reserve to:

  • Maintain a basic standard of living.
  • Prevent dependency by developing individual and family strengths.
  • Assist Members to access services to support and enhance financial wellbeing.

Income Assistance Process

  • Applicants for Income Assistance work with an Income Assistance team member to complete the application and required documents.
  • There are Four different categories of Income Assistance: Employable singles, families & couples, Persons with Persistent Multiple Barriers to Employment and Persons with Disabilities.
  • Income Assistance Clients must make monthly declarations to maintain support. Declarations are submitted in person at the Eslha7an Learning Center, 345 5th Street West, North Vancouver and Totem Hall, 1380 Stawamus Road, Squamish.
  • Income Assistance Declaration Forms are available in the printed newsletters in North Vancouver and Squamish, as well as at Eslha7an Learning Centre and Totem Hall.
