The Community Safety Team (CST) provides a pro-active, visible, preventive, and trauma-informed approach to community safety by supporting the day-to-day safety of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people. CST are the eyes and ears of the community on public safety issues. They also provide support in crisis and emergency situations.
The newly formed Community Safety Team (CST) provides a pro-active, preventive, and trauma-informed approach to the day-to-day safety of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Members on- and off-reserve. They are the eyes and ears of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People on community safety issues and proactively observe, record, educate, and report safety incidents. They also assist Members who are affected by crisis and emergency situations.
Wa Ns7eyx̱ ta Úxwumixw can be interpreted as ‘guarding the people’.
