CST observe, record, and report on community safety issues on the North Shore and in Squamish Valley. CST also help keep Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People safe by observing and monitoring safety concerns, liaising with police, supporting events and traffic control, acting as a point of contact on community safety matters, and assisting with weather emergencies and evacuations.
Wa Ns7eyx̱ ta Úxwumixw can be interpreted as ‘guarding the people’.

On July 23rd, 1923, believing they were stronger together, 412 People represented by 16 headmen from about two dozen Sḵwx̱wú7mesh villages came together to form the modern-day Squamish Nation.
