The need for a Generational Plan was identified in the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan, to serve as the long range (25 years or longer) vision for the Nation rooted in community input and direction. To complement and support implementation of this long-range vision, Nexwsxwníw̓ntm ta Úxwumixw (Council) included the development of a Long-Range Capital Plan in the Nation’s Capital Planning & Projects Policy approved in 2021, the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, and the resolution for the Land Development Strategies.
The Long-Range Capital Plan will work with Nation departments to identify capital projects that are needed and organize them according to community priorities, potential funding sources, project dependencies, and the Nation’s financial capacity.
Project Timeline: The Long-Range Capital Plan is expected to be complete by Spring 2024.
