Things are changing
Changes are coming to transit service in the Squamish Valley. We want the input of Squamish People to shape the future of transit in our Community and across the Squamish Valley.
About the project
Several years ago, BC Transit and the District of Squamish completed a Transit Future Action Plan to create transit that is safer, faster and more reliable. The plan outlined potential transit projects and service improvements in the Squamish Valley. It’s important the voices of the Squamish People are heard and included in this plan. Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) is gathering Community feedback on:
- A potential fixed transit stop in St’á7mes
- Desire for additional transit access to Wiwḵ’m and Ch’iyáḵmesh
- Ideas to integrate Squamish Nation art and language on buses and bus stops
- Overall experiences using transit in the Squamish Valley

More Information
There are several transit improvements already in the works, including:
- A Frequent Transit Network between Downtown Squamish and Garibaldi Village: A new route to replace the current Routes 1 (Brackendale) and 2 (Highlands) between Downtown and Garibaldi Village. Buses would run every 15 minutes from 7am – 7pm. on weekdays. BC Transit will also be providing more off-peak service (on weekends and evenings) for routes 1, 2 and 3.
- A new transit route in South Squamish: A new route between Sp’akw’us Feather Park, up to Adventure Park, and down to St’á7mes.
