Xwí7ski (Let’s Go!) the Elders Project Action Team is seeking nominations for new Elder and Youth representatives.
The team, made up of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Elders, Youth, and Cultural and Historical Advisors, guides Elder-focused projects, advocates for Elders, and supports the Squamish Nation Elders Program Plan.
To better reflect community voices, the team is expanding. Elders and Youth can self-nominate or be nominated by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People and Staff. Submit nominations by May 22, 2026.
Who can be nominated?
The team is seeking nominations for the following roles:
- 2 Elders (65+) living in community (North/West Van)
- 2 Elders (65+) living in community (Squamish Valley)
- 2 Elders (65+) living away from home (Off-Reserve)
- 2 Junior Elders (55–64) living in community / away from home
- 4 Elders (55+) living in community / away from home
- 1 Cultural Advisor living in community / away from home
- 1 Historical Advisor living in community / away from home
- 5 Youth (under 30)
How to submit nominations
To nominate others or yourself for Xwí7ski, please complete and submit a nomination form by May 22, 2026.
Nomination forms can be picked up at Ts’its’ixwnítway Member Services (West Vancouver) or Totem Hall / Elders Lounge (Squamish), or downloaded here: Xwí7ski Nomination Form
The form can be submitted in the following ways:
- Scan it or take a picture of it and email it to: eldersproject@squamish.net
- Mail it to: Ts’its’ixwnítway Member Services Unit 6, 380 Welch St West Vancouver, BC V7P 0A7
- Drop it off at the following locations:
- Ts’its’ixwnítway Member Services (Unit 6, 380 Welch St, West Van)
- Totem Hall / Elders Lounge (1380 Stawamus Rd, Squamish)
- Ask one of the Elders Program staff to help you complete it (on a call or in person)
