Notice of Proposed Amendments to the Squamish Nation Council Governance Policy and Council Governance Procedures

As a response to concerns from Members about the disruption and safety issues regarding fireworks in our community, Nexwsxwníw̓ntm ta Úxwumixw (Council) passed a resolution in August 2022 for the control and eventual ban of fireworks on-reserve as of November 1, 2022. This ban was reaffirmed in August 2023.

Fireworks Ban Bylaw now in effect

Coast Salish Statement of Solidarity

The Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, alongside other Coast Salish Nations, has signed a Statement of Solidarity opposing a recent claim by the BC Métis Federation (BCMF) in the BC Supreme Court.
