A substantial number of Members voted for the Election and Referendum Law. There were 899 total voters, including online and in-person ballots.
An overview of the vote results:
Changes:
- 16 Councillors
- Vote for all Councillors (remove the regions)
- Only one (1) immediate family member to be on Council
- 5-minute speaking limit at People’s Assembly meetings
Did not change:
- Definition of immediate family member
- All voters choose the Council chairperson

Changes passed from the May 31, 2025, referendum will be implemented and effective for the Squamish Nation General Election on September 28, 2025.
