Intergovernmental Relations & Strategic Partnerships (IGR) supports the Nation’s engagement with other levels of government and strategic partners in Squamish Territory while ensuring that the Nation’s rights, title, territory, and culture remain protected in all intergovernmental engagements. IGR leads a coordinated approach to collaborate with other governments and strategic partners, ensuring alignment with Council-approved priorities.

- Developing and advancing the Nation’s Intergovernmental Strategy
- Provide support and subject matter expertise for Government-to-Government relations and negotiations
- Ensure consistent alignment among Nation administration functions relating to intergovernmental relations
- Support for other Nation teams in their interactions with other levels of government
- Lead or support all intergovernmental tables and mechanisms for the Nation
- Supporting Council and senior leadership in external advocacy and diplomatic engagements
- Centralizing prioritization of IGR efforts to align with Nation-wide goals
- Embedding IGR processes such as pre-briefs and debriefs across the organization

Our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Stélmexw came home to Sen̓áḵw
On Friday, May 8, Sen̓áḵw’s first tower was blessed. Following the announcement of the occupancy permit, Sen̓áḵw hosted a beautiful blessing ceremony at the entrance of the tower.
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw home retrofits showcase Nation’s Climate Legacy Strategy
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People living on reserve can apply for free home retrofits. These upgrades can include new windows, ventilation, insulation, or a new heat pump.
