The Planning team works with Members to identify the Nation’s goals, values and aspirations and to develop plans, policies and bylaws governing Nation lands.
A recent accomplishment for this team includes Eslhílhkw’iws Chet (Census) where we heard from 1380 Nation Members.

The long-range capital plan works to develop strategies to protect and expand community buildings and amenities that meet our people’s needs.

The Planning team in collaboration with other departments is working on updating the 2006 Housing Policy. These updates are being done in phases and will be sent to Nexwsxwníw̓ntm ta Úxwumixw (Council) periodically for review.

Housing Allocation Coming in 2025: Update Your Information Today
The Squamish Nation has updated its Housing Allocations Policy to enhance clarity, transparency, and consistency in managing the Housing List and making allocation decisions. This updated policy will guide the next housing allocation process, which includes up to 15 lots and homes. The new allocation is expected to take place in 2025, marking the first allocation in seven years.
