Unveiling the Squamish Valley Community Plan
We are unveiling The Valley’s Plan next month, a first of its kind in the Squamish Valley. It gathers all plans (past, present, future) and clearly explains what we would like to accomplish in the Squamish Valley over the next 10 years.
Family Wellness Month – November 8 – 29
Ayás Mén̓men (Child & Family Services) is planning events in November to honour our families, create space for connection, and spend time together in fun and healthy ways. There will be events hosted in North Vancouver and Squamish Valley.
EVENT POSTPONED – Honouring our Athletes Event
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are postponing the event for Chet wa wanáxws kwétsiw̓it na kw’shétsut ta skw’éshetsut (we are honoring those who have played sports) on November 2.
NEW DATE: Oath Signing Ceremony will be held on October 28
Community members are warmly invited to CJMC to join in witnessing and celebrating the special oath-signing ceremony, which marks the election of our new Council and Band Manager.
Honouring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Athletes: Accepting Nominations and Photos
We are holding an event to honour past and present Sḵwx̱wú7mesh athletes at Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ (Playing Place) on Saturday, October 4, 2025. To prepare for the event, we are asking our community to nominate Members for recognition and submit photos of their sports teams.

Members are invited to attend the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw All Candidates Meetings on September 5 and 7.
Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ (Playing Place) Open to Community Members
We are pleased to announce that Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ (Playing Place) is open. There are a few drop-in activities taking place in Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ this summer including pickleball, floor hockey, and tennis. There is open floor time for community members.
Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ Grand Opening Event
Join us at Ḵw’eshḵw’shétsutay̓ (multi-purpose recreation building) on June 20 to check out the facility, participate in youth sports activities, share a meal, and cheer on the North Shore Indians.
