The Squamish Nation Education Department is proud to announce they have been awarded a prestigious Indigenous Teacher Education grant from the Rideau Hall Foundation (RHF).
The Squamish Nation Education Department has received $500,000, which will be used to develop a Squamish-specific education curriculum. In addition, the grant will be used to attract, train, and support Indigenous educators. This investment will strengthen our Indigenous education while also contributing to the cultural and educational growth of the Squamish Nation as a whole.
The Rideau Hall Foundation grant aims to create long-term Indigenous teacher employment opportunities across the country. The Foundation is working to build an education system where Indigenous educators are supported, valued, and equipped to lead meaningful change in their communities
We are deeply grateful to the Rideau Hall Foundation for their support and look forward to the opportunities this funding will create for Squamish-led education.
