We recently published syétsem tl’a syelánm (Annual Report) for the 2023/2024 fiscal year. It includes information on the Nation’s operational and financial performance. We invite Squamish People and external partners to read this document and learn more about the important work we are undertaking as a Nation.

Partnership between MST Nations, Province will help thousands own their first home in Vancouver

Thousands of first-time home buyers will have the opportunity to purchase a home at an initial 40% below market value at the Heather Lands in Vancouver, made possible through an innovative financing initiative envisioned by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) (MST) Nations delivered in partnership with the Province.

Letter to Members | Attainable Housing Initiative

On September 19, we will announce a new and exciting partnership with the Province of British Columbia, called the Attainable Housing Initiative. This partnership will help us get funding to develop the Heather Lands and contribute to addressing the housing crisis for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples.

Seeking Applications for Hiy̓ám̓ Housing Board of Directors

Hiy̓ám Housing is seeking passionate, forward-thinking applicants to join their Board of Directors and participate in shaping the future of affordable housing for the Squamish Nation. The deadline to apply is November 7, 2024 at 4:30 pm.

Cultural Grants

Applications now open! Grants are available to fund projects or host events that will benefit our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh community. Deadline to apply is September 20, 2024.

Upper Elaho Valley | Wildfire Info Bulletin

On August 12 a wildfire was reported in the Upper Elaho Valley, likely caused by lightening. BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and the Squamish Nation are working together to ensure cultural and sensitive sites in the area are protected.

Housing Engagement | Summer 2024

During the spring and summer of 2024, Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw (Planning & Capital Projects) and Wa Ns7eyx̱ ta Temíxw (Community Lands) are inviting Squamish People to share their feedback about the home and lot allocation process.

Sports & Recreation Grants

Applications are now open for Cycle 2 of the 2024 Sports & Recreation Grant. Deadline to submit applications is Friday, August 16, 2024.

Applications Open for 2024 Elk Hunt Tags

The deadline to apply for a 2024 Elk Hunt tag is Wednesday, July 31 at 11:59 pm. A live draw will take place on Facebook the following week. Each tag is allocated for specific Hunting Zones where safety and non-shooting areas must be respected at all times. Hunters must have a valid Personal Acquisition License (PAL) to receive a tag.
