na wáyatsut chexw ta asḵwálwen is the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh name given to the Squamish Nation Internship Program. It can be interpreted as “reveal your heart to yourself”.
This program offers opportunities for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh community members and connected individuals* to explore their career path, passion, and talent through an internship. During the three to six month assignment, interns will be provided training and experience through individual programs and departments.
*Connected individual(s): A person who has a significant connection to the community. Connected individuals include a spouse, parent, child, or grandchild of a Member. It also includes a person who lives within the Nation community and has a demonstrated connection to the community.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Internship Program is for Sḵwx̱wú7mes community members and connected individuals. A Member who is a Nation employee on a Temporary or Casual agreement may apply if the internship begins after the completion of their current employment with the Nation. Permanent and Term employees are not eligible.
Each program is unique, offering training and experience in a variety of different areas and departments. The length of an internship can vary from three to six months depending on the opportunity.
The start of an internship will depend on the opportunity. However, typically, a start date will be two weeks after the offer of employment to allow appropriate time for the due diligence process.
Eligible individuals can apply through the recruitment portal.

The book is intended to be a snapshot – a collection of some of the multi-faceted stories and histories that are held by the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People and a starting point for future conversations.
Squamish Strong Protocol Agreements Signed
As a part of the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the Amalgamation of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, we are pleased to announce the Nation is signing a Wa Iyí̓m ta Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Protocol Agreement with the City of North Vancouver, District of Squamish, and the City of Vancouver respectively.
New Squamish Nation Residential Tenancy Regulations for Sen̓áḵw
Today, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw announces that the protections in the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Act (BCRTA) will be in place for the Sen̓áḵw development and for future on-reserve housing developments.
