Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) Council recently approved the decision to proceed with an allocation of 15 homes (2025/2026).
Home allocations for Squamish People are in three categories, as follows:
- 8 (eight) allocations for: married/common-law
- 4 (four) allocations for: single parents
- 3 (three) allocations for: Elders
Members were notified of allocation by a registered mailed letter, dated July 9, 2025. Any Member receiving an allocation letter is required to contact the Housing Officer within thirty (30) days from the date of the housing allocation letter.
Members may reply in writing or in person at the Community Lands office and must respond to the following:
- Acknowledge receipt of the letter;
- Confirm whether they wish to accept, decline, or defer the residence allocation;
- If accepting the home allocation, schedule an appointment with the Land Registry Officer to either select a new lot or confirm your entitlement to an existing lot.
Please note that failure to respond within the specified 30-day period may result in loss of the residence allocation. The deadline to respond is August 8, 2025.
A list of names of those who have a confirmed allocation will be shared once details have been finalized.
