The Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) has signed a contract with BCAA’s Evolve to be the new E-Bike operator on Squamish Nation land. Evolve bikes will replace Lime bikes as the E-Bikes provider to the Squamish Community on the North Shore.
Squamish People and Nation staff will have access to Evolve’s Inclusive Mobility Program which offers a highly discounted usage rate that amounts to $0.10/minute — this represents a 90% discount.
Evolve will construct E-Bike parking stations, called E-Bike Share Zones, within our Reserve lands. They will also be providing 24-hour customer service support to users of the E-Bikes, including providing education to new users of the Evolve E-Bike program.
The change on the North Shore is in conjunction with the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver who are also making the switch to Evolve as the operator for the North Shore E-Bike Share Program. The E-Bike program offers a sustainable way for Community to use an electric bike and commute, run errands and move through our lands.
The new fleet of E-Bikes is expected to launch by July 1.
E-Bike locations, service areas, and booking information are available on the Evo app.
