Join us for a special Wellness Day hosted by Ayás Mén̓men and Yúustway. This event will not only be a time for families to come together and enjoy wellness activities, and share a meal, but also a chance to honour Bear Witness Day that celebrates the life and legacy of Jordan River Anderson.

Bear Witness Day is a significant occasion commemorating the life of Jordan River Anderson, a young Indigenous boy whose legacy inspired Jordan’s Principle — a child-first approach to ensuring that all First Nations children receive equitable access to services and care. The event will include family-friendly activities, Spirit Bear videos, and an opportunity to learn more about Jordan’s Principle and how we can all support its full implementation.

This event is a drop-in event for both Wellness Day and Bear Day celebration. The event will feature a variety of healing practitioners and cultural activities. Offerings include cultural support, massage therapy, Reiki, acupuncture, informational health booths and crafts for the children. It will be a day focused on self-care, where community members can relax, connect with one another while also having an opportunity to learn about the Spirit Bear.

This gathering is open to people of all ages, offering a space to take care of ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
