Registration for the 2026/2027 school year at Xwemélch’stn Etsimxwawtxw (Capilano Little Ones School) is underway and ongoing until June 30.
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh families with eligible children can now sign up for K4 and K5 classes (kindergarten for children aged four and five), as well as for new students enrolling in Grades 1–7.
Current students who are returning do not need to re-register.
To register, parents can go to the school’s website and download the application forms, or they can go in person at 107 Lower Capilano Road.
Applications are not considered complete until all necessary documents are submitted and all contact information is accurate and current for emergency situations.
Xwemélch’stn Etsimxwawtxw will then send a letter of acceptance as early as possible upon approval of a completed application.
Children are given priority registration if they are:
A registered Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) Member
A child of a Registered Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Member
A registered Status Indian residing on a Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Reserve
If a child does not meet the above criteria, they may be registered if the school has available space and other applicable eligibility requirements are met.
Xwemélch’stn Etsimxwawtxw offers a program based on Indigenous Ways of Learning and Being. The mandate for the school is to guide children’s learning in a way that weaves Sḵwx̱wú7mesh language and traditions into daily teachings.
