The 3rd Annual Memorial Squamish Nation Youth Powwow is coming up quickly.
• July 11 (4 – 11:30 pm), July 12 (11 am – 11:30 pm), July 13 (11 am – 8 pm) | Capilano Longhouse Field | 100 Mathias Road, West Vancouver
This youth focused competition powwow is hosted in memory of Gloria ‘Honeygirl’ Nahanee, T’enalt-h, has dance categories for all ages, and prizes awarded throughout the weekend. There will be many Indigenous and non-Indigenous vendors, and information booths for education , employment opportunities, healing and wellness. Traditional foods such as salmon BBQ and frybread will be available, as well as a concession stand and food trucks.
The first Grand Entry is at 7 pm, so be sure to arrive early to catch all the exciting performances and activities lined up.
Admission is $15 a day, or $20 for a weekend pass. Elders 65 and over and youth 12 and under get in for free.
