As sméṅhem (Tower Two) prepares to welcome its first residents, the vision of Sen̓áḵw continues to take shape. More Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People will soon have the opportunity to call Sen̓áḵw home and to our ancestral village.
The Mountain Towers reflect Coast Salish design, with flowing forms inspired by the landscape and rooftops that point north to honour the Twin Sisters.
With residents now settling into tl’eltl’élnup (Tower One), Sen̓áḵw has entered an exciting new chapter. The Village is growing, and each milestone brings us closer to realizing the long-term vision of this community.
Since welcoming our first residents, we’ve reached several milestones to celebrate with Community, including:
- tl’eltl’élnup (Tower One) is more than 50 per cent leased, with 125 households already calling it home.
- A majority of residents are Indigenous, reflecting the vision that has guided this village from the beginning.
- sméṅhem (Tower Two) is on track to welcome residents this fall.
- The Sen̓áḵw Welcome Centre is open.
- More leasing opportunities are becoming available.
The Sen̓áḵw Welcome Centre is Open
Sen̓áḵw’s Welcome Centre is now open six days a week, Saturdays through Thursdays. It’s located at the entrance to the village, at 1320 Chestnut St.
Visitors can explore display suites, experience the village amenities, learn about the history of Sen̓áḵw, and discover what life in the village will look like. The space also features artwork by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh artist Austin Harry, interactive exhibits, and a large-scale model that brings the future village to life.
Vancity Named Sen̓áwḵ’s First Commercial Tenant
Vancity has been announced as Sen̓áḵw’s first commercial tenant, marking an important milestone as the village continues to grow. The Sen̓áḵw Village Branch will become Vancity’s Centre of Indigenous Banking and its first branch on reserve.
The branch will help support the daily needs of residents, businesses, and the broader community while contributing to the complete village taking shape. It’s another step toward creating a vibrant place where people can live, work, gather, and access everyday services close to home.
Hiy̓ám̓ Housing and pathways to living at Sen̓áḵw
Bringing Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People home remains at the heart of Sen̓áḵw.
The Nation’s Hiy̓ám̓ ta Housing Society continues to support this work by creating affordable housing opportunities for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People. Twenty-seven subsidized homes were rented in Tower One and an additional 36 will be available in sméṅhem (Tower Two).
When complete, Sen̓áḵw will deliver more than 6,000 purpose-built rental homes, including 250 homes through Hiy̓ám̓ Housing.

sméṅhem (Tower Two) Prepares to Welcome Residents
sméṅhem (Tower Two) is nearing completion and is expected to welcome its first residents this fall. Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People and Indigenous applicants will continue to receive priority access.
Leasing for sméṅhem (Tower Two) is expected to begin in August and more information about the application process for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People will be share with Community soon.
