S7ílhen is an emergency pantry which facilitates access to nutritious food for Nation Members experiencing an emergency food need. The team believes that nobody should ever go hungry. The pantry is open two to three days per week and is stocked with basic perishable and non-perishable foods and personal hygiene supplies. Please contact the team using the information above to complete an intake.
Community Soup Nights
We will be transitioning from our monthly food sharing to something even more community-oriented! We invite you to Community Soup Nights, happening twice a year starting this May 2024.
Food distribution will still be available at Ayás Mén̓men seasonal festivals.
Our new Community Soup Nights are all about bringing our community together and embracing Squamish Nation values like chén̓chenstway (upholding one another). It’s an opportunity for our community to gather, share meals, and connect with one another.
Here’s what you can expect at the new Community Soup Nights:

- Delicious home-cooked meals prepared by talented Indigenous chefs

- Plans for North Shore and Squamish Valley soup nights
Community Soup Night on May 15, 2024 – POSTPONED
Due to the recent passing of loved ones in our community, this event has been postponed. We hope to reschedule for another day and will keep the community informed.
Vanwich Soup & Sandwich is owned and operated by Chamine Barkhouse.
Chamine has all First Nations employees, and has only been up in operation for just over two years, located at the Mosquito Creek Marina on the Spirit Trail.
Chamine is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two, coming from the Squamish Nation Nahanee family.

Community Soup Night is for all Squamish Nation community members, including Members off-reserve who live away from community. Transportation for community members from Squamish Valley will be offered. There is no registration required, and community members can drop by conveniently between 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm to accommodate various dinner schedules.
Staff are planning to host future soup nights in the Squamish Valley. This new program will start off as being offered twice a year.
The new Community Soup Night aims to centre Squamish Nation values such as chén̓chenstway (uphold one another), providing opportunities for families to gather, share meals, and connect with one another.

The pantry is open two days per week for appointments on Tuesdays (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) and Thursdays (10:00 am to 6:00 pm). The Pantry is stocked with basic perishable and non-perishable foods including meat, dairy, cheese, eggs, canned goods, and personal hygiene supplies including toiletries and baby supplies.

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw History Book For Sale
We are excited to announce that tiná7 cht ti temíxw (We Come From This Land) will be published in early January 2024! The book is intended to be a snapshot – a collection of some of the multi-faceted stories and histories that are held by the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People and a starting point for future conversations.
Squamish Strong Protocol Agreements Signed
As a part of the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the Amalgamation of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, we are pleased to announce the Nation is signing a Wa Iyí̓m ta Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Protocol Agreement with the City of North Vancouver, District of Squamish, and the City of Vancouver respectively.
New Squamish Nation Residential Tenancy Regulations for Sen̓áḵw
Today, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw announces that the protections in the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Act (BCRTA) will be in place for the Sen̓áḵw development and for future on-reserve housing developments.
