As part of their efforts to make new mothers as comfortable as possible, Yúustway (Health & Wellness) wants to hear from the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) community about how to improve maternity care for Indigenous families at Squamish General Hospital.

• July 28 | 12 – 3 pm | Ayas Lam Family Program House, 1371 Chief Billy Drive

Some of the new initiatives that will be discussed include skin to skin care after birth, seeking Elder’s guidance in the maternity journey, and enhancing the healing environment with Indigenous art and culture.

Lunch, childcare and transportation will be provided. For details on transportation, reach out to Naomi Cayou by text only at 604-849-4657.

For any questions, contact Carmen Hartle at carmen_hartle@squamish.net.
