Our entities help further the Nation's housing and economic development goals.

We honour our ancestors by continuing their work for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People to have a better quality of life than the previous generation. We use, create, and borrow the tools we need for our people to care for themselves and their loved ones. We offer knowledge of our ancestors to create ha7lh sḵwálwen and nexwniw̓ that can be passed on to our descendants.

Hiy̓ám̓ Housing

Hiy̓ám̓ Housing is the not-for-profit organization mandated to lead the development and management of non-profit affordable housing for the Squamish People.

Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation

Nch’ḵay̓ was established in 2018 as the economic development arm of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. Its mandate is to develop, manage, and own the active businesses of the Nation, and allow for the separation of business and politics.

Squamish Nation Trust

On May 11, 2000, the Government of Canada signed a Settlement Agreement with Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw to settle a series of claims first commenced by the late Chief Joe Mathias on June 30, 1977. Under the terms of the Agreement, the Trust holds the funds for the benefit of the current and future generations of Members.
