DEADLINE EXTENDED
Carbon Engineering (CE) invites Indigenous artists from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) to create a digital artwork design for display along the public walkway near our Innovation Centre in the Squamish Oceanfront area. This high-traffic path, frequented by cyclists, walkers, and nature lovers, runs alongside the CE perimeter fencing. At CE, our team is developing innovative technology to pull carbon dioxide (CO₂) directly from the atmosphere.
How to apply

- A portfolio with samples of previous work
- A sample of your concept or idea
- An artist’s statement that describes your idea

- Artist Fee: Up to $2000 per selected artwork (art design fee, includes print-ready digital file). Additional Costs: CE will cover project administration, printing, materials, installation, and maintenance separately from the artist fee.

Whistler Blackcomb invites artists from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) to submit proposals for an original Coast Salish artwork design to be featured as part of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup.
The selected artwork will be applied across the podium trophy base, commemorative gifts, and two permanent installations at Whistler Mountain Bike Park. This project takes place on the shared territory of Lil’wat Nation and Squamish Nation, and submissions should reflect connection to land, movement, story, and community.
Artist fee
$4,000 CAD. Additional production and installation costs are covered separately.

The Squamish Public Library invites artists from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) to submit concepts for a permanent interior art installation within the Library. This piece will be displayed in a public-facing space and will be visible to all visitors who come through the building.
Artist fee: $10,000 CAD, inclusive of design, materials, and installation. The Library can support installation through access to skilled installers and equipment.
Artists are encouraged to visit the Library space before applying. To arrange a visit or ask questions, contact hbloom@squamish.ca.

A full campfire ban is in place across Squamish Nation Lands and Territory due to hot, dry conditions leading to wildfire risks. The wildfire danger rating is now labelled "High."

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People living on reserve can apply for free home retrofits. These upgrades can include new windows, ventilation, insulation, or a new heat pump.
