To: All Squamish Nation membership
Re: 2014 Sockeye Allocation distribution.
Firstly, the Squamish Nation wants to thank all of membership for their patience and understanding yesterday during our food fishery delivery. Due to the long weekend, we experienced processing delays, which resulted in slower shipment times. These delays resulted in higher than expected delivery times and wait times.
For those members that we have missed, please be advised that we will have a delivery today to on reserve houses. For the members off reserve, we will have a station in front of the church.
Off-Reserve members will be able to pick up this afternoon at:
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: St. Paul’s Indian Catholic Church,
424 West Esplanade, North Vancouver
We want all members to know that this year’s Food Fisheries was complex as it occurred over a long weekend and we had to wait until Tuesday morning to get the fish processed and delivered, which lead to the delay our people and our team experienced yesterday. Please note that we will strive to make this process more effective and efficient in the future.
10,250 pieces of Sockeye were processed and received by our families in a 10 hour period.
