Some changes have been made to ensure that the ticket lottery is fair, transparent, and consistently managed as per the Ticket Lottery Policy approved tem cháyilhen (September) 2022. Please read the Q&A section below.
The lottery can be entered by completing the online form. Those requiring assistance can contact Chair & Council Office staff at 604-980-4553.
Tickets gifted to Nexwsxwníw̓ntm ta Úxwumixw (Council) by external partners or the Nation’s departments are distributed through the lottery. This can include sports tickets such as Canucks and Warriors as well as other types of event tickets.
The tickets are generally distributed electronically. Members are asked to provide an email address in the entry form. Sometimes hard copy tickets are provided to the Nation. In that case, winners will be given pick-up instructions.
If a Member wins tickets for an event they are not interested in, or cannot attend, they must decline the tickets within 48 hours. Members who decline tickets or do not respond within 48 hours will be placed back in the lottery for the next draw.
Tickets that have been accepted cannot be returned and Members who have won tickets cannot sell or transfer their tickets to anyone else.
The lottery is open annually for a period of six weeks. In 2023, it is open from August 21 – September 29. As tickets are made available to the Nation throughout the year, staff conduct the draws from that pool of names.
Members of any age are eligible to enter the ticket lottery. If children under the age of 18 win a ticket, they must be accompanied by an adult 19 or older.
Members are eligible to submit one entry per year, and win tickets for one event per year.
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw elected officials are not eligible to enter the lottery but may be invited as a Member’s guest.
Draws are regularly scheduled whenever possible but may be conducted as needed when tickets are received. Winners are selected using online randomized draw software to ensure fairness. Screen recordings of the draws and the names of the winners are posted to this page.

Transportation to and from the events is the responsibility of the Member receiving the tickets. Public transportation is accessible for the Canucks and Warriors games. As the tickets included in the lottery are provided to the Nation by external organizations for free, a budget for transportation is not allocated so that the lottery is conducted at no cost.

Please note that the screen recordings may be different from the finalized list of winners as Members can choose to decline tickets and go back into the lottery.
