MESSAGE FROM CHIEFS AND COUNCIL

The Squamish Nation Chiefs and Council would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members a very Happy Easter. We hope that you are able to spend quality time with your loved ones and that you will take this time to reflect on the importance of family.
Our families are the reason that the April 4th Membership Code vote is so important. We need to look out for the best interest of the Nation – ensure that our families are being treated fairly, and that we remain a strong and vibrant Nation. We need to right the wrongs of the past – to make sure that our loved ones are able to take their rightful place in our Nation.
We encourage everyone to come out and vote. The vote is very important because it is about who we are as Skwxwú7mesh People. It is also about exercising our rights to determine our own identity according to our laws and customs. Given the importance of this vote, we encourage all eligible voters to be ready to make an informed decision about the future of our Nation. If you do not participate, it will have the same effect as voting no.
Polling Stations will be open on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at:
Totem Hall – 1380 Stawamus Road, Squamish BC
Chief Joe Mathias Centre – 100 Capilano Road, North Vancouver, BC
Any questions contact Crystal Paull, Chief Referendum Officer at 1-877-887-6572.

We look forward to seeing you at the Polling Stations!
