Project Background
Squamish Valley does not currently have a longhouse for ceremony/cultural use. As such, the Nation, through Council, has set aside funds for the development and construction of a longhouse in Squamish Valley.

Goals and Objectives
On August 18, 2020, Council requested a Needs Assessment be completed by Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw (Planning & Capital Projects). This assessment will include:

  • Input from Members
  • Testing of project assumptions
  • Environmental assessment
  • Cultural identity and reflection assessment
  • Proms to be accommodated in the space
  • Estimate of capital project costs and operational costs
