NORTH VANCOUVER — Squamish Nation Council (SNC) decided yesterday to postpone its vote on the proposed Woodfibre LNG facility — until sometime this fall.
Chief Ian Campbell said the delay was necessary because the Nation and the proponents have not yet come to an agreement on the “25 Conditions” the Nation had recently set out.
“The vote has been postponed until sometime this fall, as there has been no agreement between Squamish Nation and the proponents – Woodfibre LNG, FortisBC, B.C. government – on the 25 conditions,” Campbell said.
Negotiations- specific to the environmental conditions – between the Nation and the proponents continue.
