Rainfall warning in effect for:
- Howe Sound
- Metro Vancouver
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
An intense Pacific frontal system will move slowly across the South Coast of British Columbia today and tonight. Heavy rain will accompany the frontal system.
Across the Metro Vancouver area the highest rainfall amounts will occur near the North Shore mountains where 50 to 70 mm of rainfall is expected by Thursday morning.
Heavy rain will also develop across Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast regions. 70 to 90 mm is expected for Howe Sound and 50 to 70 mm is expected for the Sunshine Coast.
The heavy rain will end Thursday morning as the intense Pacific frontal system moves into interior.
If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
