The Squamish Nation community is invited to join us for a very special event next Friday, October 4 commemorating the installation of a rainbow crosswalk in our community.
The rainbow crosswalk is a powerful visual display of community support and acceptance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and two-spirit (LGBTQ2) people. It shows LGBTQ2 individuals that they are welcome, loved, and respected here in our Squamish Nation community.
There will be an unveiling ceremony at 5:00 pm followed by dinner and an evening of performances, including Indigenous drag queens and a live band (Queer as Funk). There will also be a face painter on site at this family-friendly event.
