Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw serves to develop long-term planning for all of the Nation’s lands, maintaining the goals and values of the Nation and our Members. The department oversees and coordinates new home construction for Members, as well as capital projects to support the community.

“Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw” could be interpreted as “The Ones Who Grow All The Communities”, referring to the department’s role in growing the community through land use planning as well as physically growing the community with capital projects, infrastructure, and new buildings.
Programs & Services
The Housing division of Ta na wa Shéway I7x̱w ta Úxwumixw builds housing for Members who have received allocations, in addition to reviewing and approving other construction on Nation lands. The allocation process is managed by the Housing List division of the Ts’ixwts’ixwnítway (Member Services) department.
The Planning division works with Members to identify the Nation’s goals, values and aspirations and to develop plans, policies and bylaws governing Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) lands.
The Capital Projects division oversees the planning and construction of the Nation’s capital projects such as daycares, longhouses, lacrosse boxes, water, sewer, and park improvements.
