RE: Notice of Drilling Work for Seismic Assessment of Squamish River Dike at Upper and Lower Jimmy Jimmy (Judd) Slough
Notice of upcoming drilling on Squamish River Dike, at Upper and Lower Jimmy Jimmy (Judd) Slough. The work is scheduled to begin on June 3rd and last 5-6 days. In total we will be drilling 6 holes (to a depth of 30m), 2 of which are on the Aik’wucks Reserve. The drill rig will be set up in the larger pullouts along the dike and will not obstruct access to the dike or river.
We anticipate 2 days of work on the lower portion of dike on the Aik’wucks Reserve. The drill rig will be parked off reserve land overnight.
We expect the impacts of this work to be very low, however while the drill rig is operating you can expect some loud noise in the area. There will be minimal surface disturbance/vegetation removal and test holes will be drilled and backfilled in accordance with provincial groundwater protection requirements. No trees will be removed for this investigation.
Squamish Nation has been named as co-insured for this seismic drilling work. A copy of the final Seismic Assessment Report and data will be shared with Squamish Nation.
