Metro Vancouver would like to notify the community of upcoming regional water meter upgrades that will affect the Capilano area.

Metro Vancouver will be upgrading an existing water meter located at Capilano Corridor and Lawa Avenue in the Squamish Nation. This project is scheduled for summer 2021 for approximately two months and residents will be notified closer to construction with further information on project details.

Upcoming water supply testing

During construction Metro Vancouver crews will be providing an alternative water supply for the Squamish Nation. In preparation for this alternative water supply, we will perform testing of the system for a 24-hour period to ensure there is a continued supply of drinking water while construction takes place.

Testing will take place from June 17 to 18, 2021. Metro Vancouver and Squamish Nation staff will be on standby during this test to ensure that water supply is maintained at all times. In the unlikely event that any water supply problems are experienced during the 24-hour testing period, please contact the Squamish Nation Community Operations Office during work hours at 604-980-8655. For after-hours emergencies contact the Squamish Nation 24-hour Emergency Line at 604-690-0729.
