Thank you to the community and our employees who are working to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection by adhering to Public Health Orders, getting vaccinated, and following other recommended guidelines.
On November 30, 2021 Squamish Nation will implement a Vaccination Policy, to ensure a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and community members.
Effective November 30, 2021, the Nation will require all individuals to be fully vaccinated as a condition of:
*Please note that this policy does not apply to facilities deemed ‘essential services’ including health, education, and income and disability assistance services. Yúustway (Health & Wellness) adheres to protocols which allow for entry of unvaccinated patients into YHS buildings for medical reasons.
This policy applies to all individuals, including employees and contractors of the Nation; as well as visitors and third parties. This policy supports a safe environment in Nation offices and facilities, gatherings, events that are hosted by the Nation, and all direct Member services.
The Vaccination Policy is a temporary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Nation is following Public Health guidelines and the interim policy will be in place until Public Health guidelines for vaccination requirements have been lifted.
Members, employees and all other parties will need to provide proof of vaccine (i.e., QR vaccine code) when entering Nation offices or facilities for services or events.
All programs and services, including essential services, will continue adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols, i.e., masks must be worn, safe physical distancing, hand washing, enhanced ventilation, use of physical barriers where required, etc.
