Present at a Council Committee Meeting
Before requesting to meet with Council, presenters should first seek endorsement from a Council committee. Committees can provide crucial feedback and space for discussion/collaboration. Requests are reviewed by Council Advisory & Support staff and committee Chairs.
Council committees meet monthly. If you are unsure which committee your item should be presented to, please contact the CAS team to discuss. We can provide more information on the key duties and responsibilities for each committee and determine which committee(s) best aligns with your request. Requests to present to a committee must include the same documentation and follow the same timelines as identified below.

Present at a Council Meeting
For best results, submit early. Requests must be submitted at least 13 days in advance of the meeting. For example, if a meeting was scheduled on September 22nd, the meeting request and all documents must be submitted no later than September 9th. This allows time for Council Advisory & Support staff and the Chairperson to review the documents and work with presenters on any recommended updates/changes prior to distributing to Council.
Requests must include the following documents: a briefing note, a slide deck, and, if a Council decision is required, a draft resolution. Briefing note and resolution templates (with drafting tips) are available below for your convenience.
If the request is incomplete or submitted later than 13-days prior to the meeting, the item will be postponed to a subsequent meeting.
Preparing an item to come to Council is a collaborative process – the Council Advisory & Support team are ready to assist and answer any questions you may have. To ensure all submission deadlines are met, we recommend that presenters begin thinking about upcoming presentations a few months in advance. If there is any other information or support you need, please contact CASadmin@squamish.net. We look forward to receiving your requests.
