Squamish Valley Forest Service Road – Marker Pole
This call is to design and create a marker pole reflective of Coast Salish design and imagery. The pole, which will be installed at the entrance of the Squamish Valley Forest Service Road, should be a minimum of 17 ft in height and 3 ft in diameter.
This art installation is a collaboration between Ta na wa Yúus ta Stitúyntsam̓ (Rights and Title) Department, the Province of BC, Destination BC, and Tourism Whistler. This will be a legacy project for the Squamish Nation community and will be seen by the general public for many years to come, to remind them they are on Squamish Lands.
Contract value: $100,000

Sen̓áḵw Development
The Sen̓áḵw Development is looking for a Squamish Nation artist to create a graphic pattern to be embossed onto a feature wall of the elevator cabs in Residential Tower 1, 2 and 3.
Artist fee: $1,500 per design selected, up to three designs ($4,500 total)

External Call for Artists
TransLink – Orange Shirt Day Design
TransLink is seeking an Indigenous artist or graphic designer to develop an original artwork that will be applied to a shirt for National Truth and Reconciliation Day, also known as Orange Shirt Day. The same artwork will also be modified and added to by the artist into a more comprehensive design that will wrap a transit vehicle. The shirt will be made available for sale on the TransLink Store to the general public as well as TransLink employees. Proceeds of the sale of shirts will support local Indigenous communities by means of donation. The art wrapped vehicle will be launched for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2024.

‘Caps Creator Program
The ‘Caps Creators Program invites artists from the Vancouver community to join the club for a specified project to help push sports x culture forward. This program aims to help develop capacity and skills for the selected artists by creating opportunities for them to gain tangible experience working in a sports team environment and gain essential, transferable business skills.

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw History Book For Sale
We are excited to announce that tiná7 cht ti temíxw (We Come From This Land) will be published in early January 2024! The book is intended to be a snapshot – a collection of some of the multi-faceted stories and histories that are held by the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh People and a starting point for future conversations.
Squamish Strong Protocol Agreements Signed
As a part of the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the Amalgamation of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, we are pleased to announce the Nation is signing a Wa Iyí̓m ta Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Protocol Agreement with the City of North Vancouver, District of Squamish, and the City of Vancouver respectively.
New Squamish Nation Residential Tenancy Regulations for Sen̓áḵw
Today, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw announces that the protections in the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Act (BCRTA) will be in place for the Sen̓áḵw development and for future on-reserve housing developments.
