This Facebook Live event will feature Spokesperson Sxwíxwtn, Wilson Williams moderating a VIP panel on the Indigenous-led process to explore a possible 2030 Games bid. This is a chance for Members to recall the legacy of Vancouver 2010 and explore what a 2030 Games could mean for reconciliation and the Nation moving forward.
On the VIP Panel we are pleased to have:
Tewanee Joseph, a business and sport leader and Member of the Squamish Nation, was the Executive Director and CEO of the Four Host First Nations Secretariat for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Clara Hughes, a speed skater and a cyclist, is the only athlete in history to win multiple medals at both the summer and winter Olympic Games. Her six career medals tie her as Canada’s most decorated Olympian.
Richard Peter competed at five Paralympic Games with Canada’s wheelchair basketball team winning three gold medals in 2000, 2004, and 2012 and a silver medal in 2008. Peter began playing wheelchair basketball at age 15 after a team came to his school and introduced him to wheelchair sports.
