SUMMARY:Wellness Day featuring Bear Witness Day celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Wellness Day hosted by Ayás Mén̓men and Yúustway. This event will not only be a time for families to come together and enjoy wellness activities\, and share a meal\, but also a chance to honour Bear Witness Day that celebrates the life and legacy of Jordan River Anderson. \nBear Witness Day is a significant occasion commemorating the life of Jordan River Anderson\, a young Indigenous boy whose legacy inspired Jordan’s Principle — a child-first approach to ensuring that all First Nations children receive equitable access to services and care. The event will include family-friendly activities\, Spirit Bear videos\, and an opportunity to learn more about Jordan’s Principle and how we can all support its full implementation. \nThis event is a drop-in event for both Wellness Day and Bear Day celebration. The event will feature a variety of healing practitioners and cultural activities. Offerings include cultural support\, massage therapy\, Reiki\, acupuncture\, informational health booths and crafts for the children. It will be a day focused on self-care\, where community members can relax\, connect with one another while also having an opportunity to learn about the Spirit Bear. \nThis gathering is open to people of all ages\, offering a space to take care of ourselves physically\, emotionally\, and spiritually. \nFor more information on the significance of Bear Witness Day please visit: Bear Witness Day \nFor any questions about this event please contact Susanne Paull:\nSusanne_Paull@squamish.net
