SUMMARY:National Indigenous Veterans Day
DESCRIPTION:Haw k’et máynexw Kwétsi-wit na nam Xeyx (Lest we forget\, those who went to war)   \nNational Indigenous Veterans Day honours the courage\, service\, and sacrifice of Indigenous Veterans past and present.  \nMore than 12\,000 Indigenous people are estimated to have volunteered during the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. For generations\, their service and sacrifices were too often overlooked\, and many Indigenous Veterans returned home to face discrimination and exclusion.  \nNovember 8 is a day to remember their contributions\, recognize the barriers they faced\, and honour those who helped ensure Indigenous Veterans received the recognition they deserved.  \nOur hands go up to all Indigenous Veterans\, past and present and to the families and communities who carry their stories forward.  \nChet kw’enmantúmiyap (We thank you all)
