DESCRIPTION:On March 27 Yúustway (Health & Wellness) is hosting a community drum walk through Squamish Valley to honour all who have been affected by the recent losses in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. \nThe group will be starting the day at the Brackendale reserve (Jimmy Jimmy Rd cul-de-sac)\, then meet at the new Ha7lh sḵwalwnawtxw (Healthy Hub) at Siyí7ch’em for lunch\, before ending at Stawamus Waterfront\, under the gazebo. \n\nMarch 27 | 11 am – 2:30 pm | Brackendale Reserve (Jimmy Jimmy Rd cul-de-sac)\n\nEach stop will feature snacks\, drumming\, singing shared by Jonis’ White’s group\, and a chance to win prizes. DESCRIPTION:Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) Squamish youth are invited to join Yúustway (Health & Wellness) for the Nexwniŵéyalh (to teach) Youth Mentorship Program to learn from Elders Mary Jane Natrall and Donna Billy. \nParticipants will learn about traditional protocol and practices\, engage in workshops\, and take part in land-based healing activities. Attendees will share a meal together\, get brushed off every week\, and also receive paid volunteer opportunities. \n\nEvery Friday\, January 16 – March 27 | 4:15 pm – 7:15 pm | Totem Hall Elder’s Lounge\n\nNo registration required.
