The deadline to submit resolutions for the Spring 2025 People’s Assembly is January 23\, 2025. \nWhat’s a Resolution? A resolution is a formal request or idea you bring forward for discussion and decision-making. It’s how Squamish People can share priorities and concerns with Council in a clear and official way. Resolutions can be submitted by any eligible voter (18+) in the Squamish Nation. \nNeed help drafting and submitting your resolution? Join Chair & Council Office staff at a Resolution 101 Workshop:\nTotem Hall (Jan. 7 @ 6 pm)\nOnline (Jan. 9 @ 6 pm) CLICK HERE TO JOIN ON ZOOM.\nChief Joe Mathias Centre (Jan. 13 @ 6 pm) \nMore info\nResolutions are: \n\nA way to propose changes\, ideas\, or actions on issues important to the Nation.\nA tool to guide Council’s decisions and policies.\nA formal statement that must be voted on at the People’s Assembly.\n\nResolutions are not ideal for: \n\nPersonal concerns or issues that apply to individuals\, rather than the wider community.\nRequests related to administrative matters that could be resolved with staff.\nIdeas needing immediate action—they guide Council and may require more steps to implement.\n\nAll resolutions must be submitted by January 23\, 2025 at 4:30 pm.\nSubmit at resolutions@squamish.net OR to Chair & Council Office staff at 320 Seymour Boulevard.
