DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 26\, the Yúusnew̓as Family will host a Community Burning at the former St. Paul’s Residential School site (St. Thomas Aquinas High School in North Vancouver). Yúusnew̓as is a Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Community-led project to research and document the residential school experiences of our People. This ceremony is not for the general public\, but is open to anyone in Community\, with a special emphasis on Elders and Survivors. \nThe Community Burning is part of our shared journey to acknowledge and reconcile the harms to our People caused by the residential school system. The day will include:  \n\nA Community burning at the school site \n\n\nA lunch gathering at CJMC following the ceremony \n\n\nA charter bus will be provided from Totem Hall to the site and will then transport attendees from the Burning to CJMC \n\n\nHealth & Wellness services on site to offer support for those in need \n\nCommunity Burning & Gathering Agenda  \nDate: Saturday\, September 26  \n12pm – Community arrival on-site near St. Thomas Aquinas\, 541 West Keith Rd.\, North Vancouver  \n1pm-2:30pm – Burning Ceremony  \n2:30pm-3:30pm – Transportation provided to CJMC  \n3:30pm-5pm – Shared meal at CJMC  \nTransportation sign-up details will be posted when plans are finalized.
