Key Considerations
A few key considerations while reviewing this information:

  1. We are pleased to provide membership with an unprecedented level of information in the name of transparency and accountability. This information is not intended to be shared with non-members, please ensure that this information is kept confidential.
  2. The Squamish Nation provides a wide variety of programs and services to members both on and off reserve. Many of our programs/services are available to all members, but some are targeted to specific age groups or members with specific needs. You will see many programs/services that you and your families can enjoy, but there may be some that you are not eligible for.
  3. The Nation is continuing to expand its program/service offerings. Launching these new offerings often requires significant planning and resources that may take more than one year to complete and acquire. Therefore there may be some programs that you see with a budget attached to them but they’re actually not yet active. It’s these programs that the Nation is planning for and accumulating resources in preparation to launch.

We welcome and encourage all members to review our Nation’s 2020-2021 Budget, and to submit any budget-related questions you may have — either about the contents or the process — to budgettalks@squamish.net. We will be compiling questions received between now and June 30th and preparing a Q&A document for membership where we respond to all your questions in one place.
