2nd Update

To Squamish Nation Families that reside on the Capilano Reserve

Currently there’s a police incident on the Capilano Reserve, the West Vancouver Police Department is handling the incident.

For your information to Squamish Nation families that cannot go to their home’s we encourage you to stay with family or friends until the police matter is resolved. The following areas remain closed:

  • No internal access to the reserve entrances
  • from Capilano Road to Lawa Road
  • from 15th St West and Mcguire  Avenue to Lawa Road  (land marks Khot-la-cha Store and Norgate Park field)
  • No in or out access allowed this includes Paitsmauk

 Internal access to the reserve entrance from Welch Street to Whonoak Road

  • Access allowed includes Jacobs Road and Jacobs Crescent

As requested, please follow direction from Police Officers on site.

The Elder’s Centre is open at 100 Mathias Road for the families that do not have a place to go. Sandwiches &refreshments will be provided at the Centre at 5pm. Any questions contact 604-240-5539 or 604-315-4225 email: communications@squamish.net
