May 5-11, 2013 has been designated as this years’ North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week. Now in it’s seventeenth year, governments, employers, and workers across the continent of North America will take time out from their normal activities to promote the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and at play.
Squamish Nation is an active participate in NAOSH safety week building on the success of previous campaigns.
Numerous events are planned throughout Squamish Nation – from the North Shore to Squamish. All events will incorporate this years’ NAOSH theme: Are You as Safe as You Think?
Squamish Nation Workplace Safety Committee members and safety volunteers will be hard at work to ensure that the Nations’ THINK SAFETY At Work, At Home, At Play message reaches all 400 employees, and community members.
Colorful banners incorporating the Squamish Nation – Thunderbird logo and NAOSH Safety Week logo – three hands forming an equilateral triangle will be proudly displayed in all Squamish Nation buildings and on Squamish Nation billboards.
